We have 3 talented passers that do very well in individuals and controlled drills.  2 of them are 2nd years and 1 of them is a first year.  We seem to be making good progress with their technical ability but once we put them into wash and team competition drills they seem to tighten up and make just a few more reception errors.  We are really trying to get our reception errors down this year.  Our percentage of 3’s is good.  We ended last season around 55 – 60%.  Do you have any advice for getting them to work better together to reduce our 0 passes?

    Thanks.

Here are some drills that will help your players.

    1. Do this drill – 5-3-5-3-5-3 – within a certain time sequence – 4 minutes or 3 minutes – you can also start with 5 minutes.

They will have to get through a drill where they do 5-3-5-3-5-3 under a certain time period – first 4 minutes than 3 minutes

A)Your three passers are right back (zone 1),middle back (zone 6), left back (zone 5) – they need to get five 3 passes – then they have to get 3 in a row 3 passes
    B) rotate and repeat – 5-3
    C) rotate and repeat – 5-3

******Now if you get more than one zero in each session – – start from beginning – if in A) repeat A – – if in B) – go back to A. etc.******

    2. Play a regular game – anytime that someone is aced is three points to serving team.
